GILGIT (92 News) – Opposition Leader in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Muhammad Shafi was arrested on Tuesday. He was arrested after the cancellation of his bail by the anti-terrorism court. On April 7, 2016, a case was registered against Opposition Leader in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Muhammad Shafi on the charge of snatching relief items sent by the government and thrashing government officials. The Danyore Assistant Commissioner, in a letter to the police, had stated that Muhammad Shafi with his colleagues had snatched the relief goods which were being sent to Oshikandas village and thrashed the officials. He was booked under sections 337, 340-A, 341, 353, 500 and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
