Gillani terms his appointment of Senate opposition leader as PDM’s success

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Former premier Yousaf Raza Gillani has termed his appointment of Senate opposition leader as Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) success on Friday.

While talking to the journalists, the PPP leader said that he is the chairman senate and opposition leader in the eyes of the people. "I will remove the concerns of all the opposition parties including PML-N. We are together and will go forward together in the PDM," he added.

Gillani mentioned that the PDM leader also said that independent parliamentarians have also showed his support. He said that the decision of the long march to Islamabad was held in the PDM leaders’ meeting whereas PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that the option of resigning from assemblies should be the last resort.

"We believe that the voice of Parliament is the voice of the people of Pakistan and we shouldn’t ignore it," the PPP leader maintained. He further said that they want to continue their struggle inside and outside Parliament, adding that the coalition group’s candidates emerged victorious in all the by-elections.
