Girl burnt alive for honour in Gujrat

GUJRAT (92 News) – A 22-year-old girl was burnt alive for honour in Sok Kalan area in the Sadr police limits on Tuesday.

Maria had contracted the marriage of her choice against the will of her family.

Her family members, including her maternal grandfather, burnt her alive.

She was taken to CMH and later shifted to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Burn Unit where she succumbed to her wounds.

A case has been registered against the accused under the ATA.

DPO Sohail Zafar said that they had arrested all the accused, including her maternal grandfather.
