SHARJAH (92 News) – Quetta Gladiators beat Lahore Qalanders by three wickets in the 12th match of Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) fourth edition in Sharjah on Saturday. Skipper Sarfaraz played very well and helped to win Gladiators thriller off last ball. The Lahore Qalandars bowling attack with timely wickets have put the pressure on Quetta Gladiators at a defensive position in the 144 run-chase. The fast bowlers, Rahat Ali and Haris Rauf, have picked one wicket each. Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed is on the crease with Muhammad Nawaz. In the first innings, skipper AB De Villiers bagged 45 off 40 runs powered Lahore Qalandars to a fighting total of 143 runs after the top-order crumbled before the Quetta Gladiators' bowling attack. Skipper De Villiers takes Qalandars to 143 while, fast bowler Ghulam Mudassar picked the wickets of opener Sohail Akhtar and Salman Butt, after off spiner Muhammad Nawaz dismissed Fakhar Zaman. The AB de Villiers led Qalandars will look to build upon on their last night’s theatrics where they defeated the Sultans by six wickets. Earlier, Quetta Gladiators won the toss and decided to field first against Lahore Qalandars. The first of the two contests scheduled for Saturday will start at 5-00 pm at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Riding on a high from their win from last night against Multan Sultans, super-charged Lahore Qalandars will bat first against unstoppable Quetta Gladiators in the first PSL fixture. The AB de Villiers led Qalandars will look to build upon on their last night’s theatrics where they defeated the Sultans by six wickets. The Qalandars currently sit fourth on the points table with two wins from two matches. On the other hand, the Gladiators are at the top with a perfect record of three wins out of three. Fast bowler Shaheen Afridi and Brendon Taylor will sit out in today's game due to injuries. It will be fifth match for Lahore Qalandars while the Gladiators will be appearing for the fourth time in the event. Lahore won two of their four matches securing four points while Quetta won all their three matches and are leading all the teams with six points on the table. Quetta Gladiators won their three matches against Peshawar Zalmi by 6 wickets, Islamabad United by seven wickets and Multan Sultans by eight wickets. Lahore Qalandars after losing the inaugural match of the event to Islamabad United by five wickets came back with a 22-run victory over Karachi Kings. Later, they were beaten by seven wickets against Peshawar Zalmi but last night chased a huge target of 201 against Multan Sultans.
