Gold rates decline by Rs1,900 to Rs220,900 per tola

ISLAMABAD (APP) - The per tola price of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs1,900 and was sold at Rs220,900 on Friday compared to its sale at Rs222,800 on the last trading day.

The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also decreased by Rs1,629 to Rs189,386 from Rs191,015 whereas the price of 10 gram 22-karat gold went down to Rs173,604 from Rs175,097, the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported.

The price of per tola and ten-gram silver remained unchanged at Rs2,680 and Rs2,297.66 respectively. The price of gold in the international market decreased by US$15 to US$2,090 from US$2,105, the Association reported.

Rupee gains 7 paisa against dollar

The Pakistani rupee witnessed the 13th consecutive recovery session as it gained 7 paisa against the US dollar in the interbank trading and closed at Rs 281.86 against the previous day’s closing of Rs 281.93.

However, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market stood at Rs281.4 and Rs284 respectively.

The price of the Euro decreased by Rs1.98 to close at Rs311.49 against the last day’s closing of Rs313.47, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The Japanese Yen lost 02 paisa and closed at Rs1.98, whereas a decrease of Rs 2.81 was witnessed in the exchange rate of the British Pound, which traded at Rs 358.59 compared to the last closing of Rs 361.40.

The exchange rates of the Emirates dirham and the Saudi riyal decreased by 02 and 01 paisa to close at Rs 76.74 and Rs 75.16 respectively.
