Saulat Mirza’s execution stayed for 90 days, Shafqat’s for 30 days

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Only a day after the confessional video, the execution of Saulat Mirza was stayed for 90 days, while the hanging of ‘underage’ Shafqat Hussain was postponed for 30 days.

Federal Interior Minister Ch Nisar said that a summary has been sent to President Mamnoon Hussain for approval.

Mirza, a target killer, was sentenced to death in 1999 on charges of murdering Karachi Electric Supply Corporation former managing director Shahid Hamid, his driver Ashraf Brohi and guard Akbar Khan in July 1997 in Karachi. Shafqat was sentenced to death for kidnapping and killing an eight-year-old in 2004.

Mirza is expected to record his statements before a magistrate. All the names mentioned in the video will also be interrogated.
