Government will present a mini budget on Jan 23: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Finance Minister Asad Umar has announced that the government will present a mini budget on January 23. Addressing the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday, he said that the Finance Budget will be present on January 23 due to the foreign tour of Prime Minister Imran Khan. “Tax anomalies will be removed in the mini budget,” he said. The minister claimed that the PTI government is better than the governments of the PML-N and the PPP. “My party has made me the minister. I will continue to work if my performance was good,” he said. He said that a case is registered against the sister of the prime minister and she is fined as well. “It is a difference between the old and new Pakistan,” he said. Asad Umar announced that three new projects worth Rs 50 billion will be started for Karachi. “The circular debt is still at Rs 150 billion. The Saudi Energy Minister is in Pakistan who will soon look into the investment matters. We will observe the effects of imports and exports next month,” he said. He claimed that a relief would be provided to the poor and job opportunities will be created. “The Army and the government want good relations with India. All stakeholders are on the same page for resolution of problems with India. The government has not replied to Imran Khan’s offer positively,” he said. The minister said that the parliament will make a change in the tax. “We are not going to the International Monetary Fund,” he said. He announced that there will be a good news for the stock exchange in the Finance Bill. “The private sector will run the economy in the 21st century,” he said.
