Govt all set to increase basic power tariff by Rs1.39 per unit

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The government is all set to increase the basic power tariff by Rs1.39 per unit.

The federal government, in an application submitted to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), has sought the increase for all consumers, including K-Electric.

The increase will put a permanent burden on the consumers. However, the increase will not be applicable to the lifeline consumers.

The consumers using up to 200 units will be exempted from the increase. The NEPRA will conducts hearing on November 2. Notices have been served to the parties concerned.
