Govt-banned TLP talks succeed, resolution to expel French ambassador to be tabled in NA today

LAHORE (92 News) – The talks between the government and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TLP) succeeded after the three rounds on Monday night.

Punjab Minister Hafiz Ammar Yasir and Haji Ameer Hussain played a key role in the successful talks. Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Sahibzada Mian Jalil Ahmed Sharqpuri, Pir Abdul Khaliq, Sahibzada Abu Al-Khair Muhammad Zubair and Sunni Tehreek chief Sarwat Qadri and a nine-member delegation of Ulema played a role in the success of the talks.

In a video message, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed said that the resolution seeking expulsion of the French ambassador would be presented in the National Assembly today.

He said that the matters were settled between the government and the TLP had been settled. "The TLP will end the sit-in and the process of talks will be taken forward. Cases against the TLP members and leaders will be quashed and their names would be removed from the Fourth Schedule," he added.
