Govt challenges EC's verdict against Kisan package in IHC

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The federal government has on Wednesday challenged Election Commission’s verdict regarding Kisan Package in Islamabad High Court. The writ has been filed by the Attorney General in this regard. The government pleaded in its petition that the Kisan package has no link with the Local Government Elections in Islamabad, Sindh and Punjab. The government said in its petition that the ECP’s suspension of Kisan Package is beyond its authority, adding that the ECP cannot stop federal government from performing its duties. It said that the ECP suspended the package without listening to Finance Ministry, Revenue and Planning. The government requested to declare ECP’s decision null and void.
