Govt constitutes high level committee to probe Arshad Sharif's death

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Federal Government has constituted a high-level committee to probe Arshad Sharif's death.

As per details, a three-member committee will probe the death of journalist Arshad Sharif. Officers of Inter-Services Intelligence, Intelligence Bureau and Federal Investigation Agency have been included in the committee. The committee will immediately go to Kenya to investigate the matter. Pakistan High Commission in Kenya will assist the committee. The incident, motives and other aspects of the martyrdom of Arshad Sharif will be examined.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had decided to form a judicial commission to probe the death of journalist Arshad Sharif. This had disclosed by Federal Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb.

She had said that representatives of the civil society and media will be able to take part in the commission to thrash out the facts. "The prime minister has phoned the Kenya president and demanded impartial and transparent investigations into the tragic incident," she declared.
