Govt decided not to increase power rate despite pressure: FM Qureshi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the government had not decided to increase the power tariff despite pressure.

Talking to the media on Saturday, he said that the government had upheld the prices of petrol. "The government did not increase income tax and sales tax," he added.

The minister said that the skyrocketing price hike is the reason behind the world conditions. "The salaries of government and pensions have been increased by 10 percent," he added.

He said that for the first time, the budget allocated for South Punjab would be spent on South Punjab. "The budget of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan will also be the best," he added.
