Govt decides to form Turkish-style special force to deal with protesters

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The federal government has decided to form a Turkish-style special force to deal with protesters. 

Approval has been  given in principle to form a force equipped with modern technology and equipment. Protesters will be able to be controlled without heavy casualties. An amount of Rs1.80 billion was also sanctioned for procurement of equipment and manpower for the force.

The protest control force drones will be equipped with artificial intelligence cameras, video analytics systems and advanced equipment. The plan is to set up a protest control force was drawn up in consultation with Turkish-trained police officers.

Planning Minister Asad Umar said the force will be funded through the Public Sector Development Program.

The prime minister directed the Interior Ministry to set up a special force to take action against the squatters.
