Govt decides to increase power tariff by Rs2 per unit on IMF terms

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The government has decided to increase the power tariff by Rs2 per unit.

According to sources in the Power Division, the power tariff will be increased by Rs2 per unit on the conditions of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The rate will be increased from Rs16.44 to Rs18.37 per unit by 2023.

It has also been proposed to review the circular debt management due to the dollar exchange rate during 2022-23. During 2022, the power price will remain at Rs18.09, while it will be increased to Rs18.37 in 2023.
