Govt decides to operate 20 more special flights to repatriate stranded Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The government has decided to operate 20 more special flights to repatriate more than 5000 stranded Pakistanis in different eight foreign countries. The third phase of repatriation from abroad has been started. More than 5000 stranded Pakistanis will be repatriated through special flights. However, 4000 Pakistanis were only stranded in United Arab Emirates (UAE). Meanwhile, the special flights will be operated from Karachi, Peshawar, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad and Islamabad. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that third phase of repatriation of Pakistanis abroad has started from today during which 5000 Pakistanis will be brought back every week. He stated while talking to Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Security Dr Moeed Yusuf in Islamabad. The minister said our capacity will increase in cooperation with the provinces and will help bring back maximum number of Pakistanis back to the country. He said testing and quarantine facilities at airports across the country have been significantly increased to control the spread of COVID-19 pandemic effectively. FM Qureshi said we are trying to control the local spread of Coronavirus as well as taking steps to cope with the economic impacts of this pandemic.
