Govt decides to start Article 6 proceedings against President Arif Alvi, ex-PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The federal government has decided to start the proceedings of the Article 6 against President Arif Alvi and former prime minister Imran Khan.

It has also been decided to start the Article 6 proceedings against former deputy speaker Qasim Suri and the Punjab governor. The case will be registered against these people after final consultation with the Interior Ministry and the Law Ministry.

Sources said that Qasim Suri had violated the constitution by giving the ruling against the no-confidence motion.

President Arif Alvi, former prime minister Imran Khan and Punjab Governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema had violated the constitution. The President and the governor had refused to perform their constitutional responsibilities.
