Govt dispatches food rations to Pakistani students in Wuhan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The federal government has dispatched the stockpile of Pakistani cooked food rations to country’s students residing in Wuhan. This was told by Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Zulfikar Bukhari in his tweet. He said that as promised, Pakistani cooked food rations and supplies for our people in Wuhan, Hubei province have been dispatched. “We are under strict instructions from the prime minister to ensure all students in China are especially taken care of. Bukhari also maintained that the government is trying to facilitate the students in each and every way possible, he revealed that such amenities along with monetary grants have been sent to them in the past as well. “As promised, Pakistani cooked food rations&supplies for our ppl in Wuhan, Hubei prov have been dispatched. We are under strict instructions from PM @ImranKhanPTI to ensure all students in China are especially taken care of. Thanks to PAF, NDMA &all who came together & made it possible,” the special assistant tweeted. It is noteworthy that the plane being sent with the stockpile of ration weighing 17 tonnes will return from China with coronavirus testing kits and other healthcare items essential to deal with the deadly coronavirus. The ration being sent is for almost 1300 Pakistani students which include edibles and everyday use items, Bukhari also said that the government of Pakistan was in constant contact with the Chinese officials and were keeping abreast of the situation amid the global coronavirus outbreak. On the other hand, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan have jumped to 448 after Balochistan, Punjab, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa announced an increase in their provincial tallies. According to the details garnered, seven cases have been reported from the federal capital while one case in Azad Jammu Kahsmir. However, four patients of coronavirus also have been recovered. Meanwhile, 23 patients of coronavirus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have surfaced and two deaths reported.
28 new cases emerge in Karachi, taking Sindh’s total to 245
Another 28 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Karachi, taking the tally of Sindh’s cases to 245. According to Sindh health department spokesperson Meeran Yousuf, the total number of cases in Karachi now stands at 93.
Number of coronavirus cases in Punjab rises to 80
According to the Coronavirus Command & Control Center, more cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in DG Khan, taking Punjab’s tally to 80.
Balochistan reports 31 new COVID-19 cases; total at 81
At least 31 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Balochistan, taking the provincial total to 81. The samples of 353 patients were sent for lab tests and 76 of them came out positive.
With 8 new cases, GB’s COVID-19 tally rises to 23
Eight new coronavirus cases have been detected in Gilgit-Baltistan, according to GB health department focal person Dr Shah Zaman. This takes the total number of cases in the region to 23.
