Govt exempts solar, wind energy power plants from generation licence

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The government has exempted solar and wind energy power plants from the production licence.

The Power Division has issued a notification in this regard. The solar and wind power plants producing up to 25KW will require no generation licence from the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).

The 25KW power plants can directly sell electricity to power distribution companies.

Power can be sold out to the distribution companies through net metering.
