ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The government has further increased the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs30 per litre.

Addressing a press conference, Federal Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said that petrol price will be increased to Rs209.89 per litre and diesel will be available at Rs204.15 per litre.

He said that the government was forced to increase the POL products prices due to the agreement signed between the previous government and the IMF. "The country got a loan of Rs25 billion during the last 71 years while the former government got the same amount in loan during the last four years," he maintained.

Miftah Ismail said that 7.4 million people have been provided the relief under the BISP. "The increase in the petrol price was unavoidable. The government is giving a subsidy of Rs120 billion on petrol," he added.
