- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the government has no role in the audio leak.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said that Imran Khan and his followers wasted the time of the nation. "The worst dishonesty was done with the country and the nation over the cypher issue," he added.

The prime minister said that the allegations were levelled against the coalition government. "The links of the conspiracy have been traced with Imran Khan. We have proof of the conspiracy of Imran Khan. I had stated that we should be hanged if the conspiracy is proved by us," he maintained.

He said that Imran Khan was in habit of telling lies day and night. "I swear that he is a fraudster. The audio is telling everything that he tried to divide the Pak Army. Imran Khan hatched a conspiracy to betray the country. The cabinet has formed an inquiry commission over it. Action will be taken as per the law and the constitution," he added.

The prime minister said that Imran Khan will destroy the country and the institutions if he was again imposed.

To a question about the appointment of the army chief, he said that the procedure to appoint the army chief is written in the law and constitution and decision on it will be made as per law and constitution.

Shehbaz Sharif said that the PTI passed the nation through the worst crises. "It struck the IMF deal and later violated its conditions. It said that 300 units will be free in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is on the verge of being default after getting loan," he concluded.
