Govt has stopped misuse of NAB law, says Azam Nazir Tarar

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar has rejected the objections raised by Imran Khan to the NAB amendments.

Reacting to the statement on Tuesday, he said that the government had just stopped the misuse of the NAB law. "The system cannot work if the NAB remained in the same state. The law formed by a dictator should have been changed much earlier."

The minister was of the view that he had seen the defeat of the NAB in courts. "The government has made amendments on the orders of the apex court and as per the constitution," he added.

He said that the government had included 2-3 proposals of President Arif Alvi. "Now the serving judges will be appointed to the NAB instead of the retired ones," he disclosed.
