ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the government has to approach the International Monetary Fund (IMF) when the pressure increases on the rupee.

Addressing the launching ceremony of Sohni Dharti Remittance Programme for Overseas Pakistanis on Thursday, he said that imports increase and foreign reserves increase when the economy grows. "The industry will grow only when the exports will increase."

Paying tributes to overseas Pakistanis, the prime minister said that the overseas Pakistanis had always helped Pakistan. He stressed the need for using the Sohni Dharti Banking channel for transferring remittances from abroad.

Imran Khan said nine million overseas Pakistanis are immensely contributing to country's economy. The government appreciates the role of overseas Pakistanis in bridging the gap between exports and imports of the country. We are determined to extending all possible facilitation to overseas Pakistan to encourage them to send their money through banking channels," he maintained.
