Govt likely to increase petrol price by Rs 5.25 per litre from October 1

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The government is likely to increase the petrol price by Rs 5.25 per liter from October 1.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), in a summary sent to the Petroleum Division, has proposed an Rs 3.50 per litre increase in the diesel rate.

The Finance Ministry will make the decision regarding an increase in the price of the POL products in consultation with Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The change in prices of POL products depends on petroleum levy and General Sales Tax (GST). Presently, the petroleum levy on petrol and diesel is Rs 5.62 per litre and Rs 5.14 per litre, respectively.
