Govt likely to increase power rate by Rs2.65 per unit

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The government is likely to increase the power rate by Rs2.65 per unit.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CCPA) has filed an application in the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) under the head of the fuel adjustment.

The decision on the application will be made after hearing on October 27.

According to the CCPA, the power production cost from the costly furnace oil had been Rs 19.23 per unit in September. During the last month, 36.02 percent electricity was generated from water, 17.05 percent power was produced from coal, 8.9 percent from local gas and 18.9 percent from LNG.
