Govt made fun of farmers by increasing wheat support price by Rs 200: Ch Pervaiz Elahi

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi, a key ally of the government, said that the government had made fun of farmers by increasing the wheat support price by Rs 200 per maund.

In a statement, the wheat support price should be fixed at Rs 2,000. "The present support price even does not meet cultivation expenditures," he added.

He said that farmers will be forced to cultivate another crop if they did not get a relief. "It could create a severe wheat crisis in the country," he added.
