FAISALABAD (92 News) - The government is making decisions without taking the stakeholders into confidence.

This was stated by the office-bearers of the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association (PHMA) on Tuesday.

They said that they could increase revenue by increasing exports if they are given facilities. "We have not received funds under the Fast Track Policy even after two months," they added.

The office-bearers demanded that the fixed price of gas and electricity should be upheld. "We have started locking our industries due to steps taken by the present government. The government is following the dictation of the IMF," they maintained.

Holding the government responsible for the problems being faced by the textile industry, Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) president Atif Munir threatened to take to streets against inflation. "We will go to any extent for the protection of the rights of industries and workers," he added.

PHMA central chairman Kashif Zia said that the industry is heading towards closure in the present conditions. "Lacs of workers are facing unemployment. We will lock the industry due to an increase in the fuel price," he announced.

Loom Owners Association chairman Waheed Khaliq Ramay and Sizing Association president Shafique Ansari said that the industry is facing the pre-2018 situation and it would suffer an irreparable loss if the same situation continued.
