Govt not presented itself for accountability despite promise: JI chief
September 27, 2016
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq said that it has been five months since the Panama Leaks issue surfaced but the government has not yet presented itself for accountability despite its promise. “This corrupt system and Pakistan cannot go hand in hand. There is a huge debt over shoulders of each Pakistani” the JI chief said, while addressing the media outside Parliament House on Tuesday. Every politician, including Nawaz Sharif and all previous governments, should be made accountable, he added. The JI chief further said, “If India can distort the history by lying, why can’t Pakistan speak the truth?” He asked Nawaz Sharif as to why he had not mentioned Kalbhushan Yadev in his United Nations address. The issue of India’s open intervention in Balochistan was also not raised, he said. “Pakistan needs to revisit its foreign policy. The extremist Indian government is attacking Pakistan’s ideology. We want to make a foreign policy according to the aspirations of people,” Siraj added.
