ISLAMABAD (92 News) – PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that corruption of Rs one billion is committed on the import of a furnace oil ship.

Talking to the media on Friday, he said that he had been a minister and knew very well who is bribing whom. "The government is purchasing oil having original price of Rs 94,000 for Rs 110,000. They are purchasing LNG 50 percent costlier than us. Why is loadshedding being observed if surplus electricity is being generated?" he queried.

The PML-N leader said that Nawaz Sharif's plants generated cheap electricity. "It is surprising that the government does not consider lie as bad. They are incompetent and should not tell a lie," he added.

He alleged that the government is not signing the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) agreement to please its 'favourites'.

He said that LNG was being sold at US$4. "But the government has not signed the LNG agreement because the ministers want to run their plants," he added.

The PML-N leader said that the government had caused a loss of US$4 billion by not signing the LNG agreement afresh.

About the Afghanistan situation, he said that Afghanistan is an autonomous country and want their leadership should make decisions. "The world is responsible for the situation in Afghanistan. It is government's responsibility to find out a solution for such problems," he added.
