Govt, opposition not to reveal shortlisted names for ECP slots to media

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – As Opposition leader in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar nominated 24 names for the appointment of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members, the government and opposition have on Wednesday decided not to reveal the names to media. The two leaders decided that the names will not be revealed to the media until the finalization of four names. The opposition leader in National Assembly also informed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Opposition leader in Senate Aitzaz Ahsan regarding the selected names. Sources privy to the opposition said that Khurshid Shah has shortlisted 3 names from each province, while Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has also shortlisted 3 names from each province.
