ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Under instructions from Prime Minsiter Imran Khan, the government’s Rabita Committee has decided to contact the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P). According to sources, a delegation led by Jahangir Tareen will meet the MQM-P leaders. Reacting to the statement of Bilawal Bhutto, Special Assistant to PM on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the breakage of a political alliance will not resolve the problems of Karachi. “But the problems will be resolved by breaking the alliance of corruption and plunder,” he said. On Monday, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) had refused to join the Sindh government instead of the federal government. Responding to the offer made by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the MQM-P spokesman said that the party had forged an alliance with the federal government for the interest of Karachi, not the ministries. He said that the party was not satisfied with the one-and-a-half-month performance of the federal government. “But we will not decide to separate from the government on the wish of anyone,” he said. The spokesman said that the MQM-P was not doing politics for ministries, but for public welfare. He demanded that Bilawal Bhutto should empower the local governments system to compensate for the excesses being meted out to Karachi. “The uplift projects started by the federal or Sindh government are insufficient for Karachi,” he maintained. Earlier on Monday, Bilawal Bhutto had offered Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to join the Sindh government. Speaking to the journalists in Karachi, the PPP chairman gave offer to the MQM party to quit the alliance with federal government and join the Sindh government. “MQM should leave the alliance with the incumbent government for saving Sindh,” he added. Bilawal Bhutto mentioned that every slogan of Prime Minister Imran Khan has proved to be false. “MQM should leave PTI and join the PPP. We are ready to give same ministries to the MQM which they have in the federal government,” he offered. The PPP chairman said that the people should be given basic rights. “History witnessed that the PPP always supported and stand with the poor people. Closure of gas is an anti-federation project,” he added.
