Govt says no decision taken yet for shifting Nawaz back to jail

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab government spokesperson Dr Shahbaz Gill on Tuesday said that no decision have been taken yet for shifting former prime minister Nawaz Sharif back to Kot Lakhpat jail. According to the reports, the Punjab government spokesman confirmed that medical reports of Nawaz Sharif had been received. “The decision regarding keeping the former premier in hospital or sending him back to jail will be taken in light of his medical reports,” the Punjab government spokesperson maintained.
Nawaz likely to be shifted back to jail from hospital
It is expected that the three time prime minister is likely to be shifted back to Kot Lakhpat jail from Services Hospital in Lahore. Earlier today, the reports of Sharif’s medical tests were forwarded to the Ministry of Interior by the medical board to determine whether the former prime minister should be moved to hospital. The reports of former convicted prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s medical tests have been forwarded to the Ministry of Interior to determine whether the former prime minister should be moved to hospital. According to the test reports, the contained medical history of Sharif, however the latest test results reveal little blockages in his arteries and he is also suffering from blood pressure, diabetic and kidney problems. However, the report recommended to the Interior Ministry for shifting Nawaz Sharif to cardiac hospital. It is learnt that Nawaz Sharif had been facing cardiac issue for a long time. The medical board has also recommended shifting Nawaz Sharif to the hospital.
Nawaz Sharif’s treatment possible in Pakistan: Dr Mehmood
A day earlier, Professor Dr Mehmood Ayaz said that the treatment of incarcerated prime minister is possible in Pakistan. He also said that the head of a medical board, formed to examine PML-N supremo, said consultation over Nawaz’s report was underway, and we have not reached to any conclusion yet. “The final decision would be taken after thorough review of the reports,” Dr Ayaz said. To a query, he said treatment of Nawaz Sharif is possible in Pakistan, not decided to send him abroad for treatment yet. On January 28, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) adjourned hearing of a bail petition filed by Sharif in the Al-Azizia reference case on the basis of medical grounds till February 6. The petition has sought bail and suspension of Sharif’s sentence with a reasoning that he has been suffering from heart and kidney problems along with hypertension. The court issued notice to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and ordered the jail superintendent to submit all medical reports of Sharif on the next hearing.
