Govt sent two controversial presidential references: Shahid Khaqan Abbasi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that the government had sent two presidential references which were controversial.

Talking to the media after a meeting with the chief election commissioner on Monday, he said that the references were discussed in the media and negative opinion was given.

"We hope that the President will send the reference in future after applying his mind. Had the President gone through the constitution there would have no need for the reference," he added.

The PML-N leader said that they had presented their recommendations before the ECP. "No change in the election process possible unless an amendment to the constitution," he maintained.
