ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The spokesman for the government has expressed grief over the alleged remarks of the honorable judge in the Nehal Hashmi case.

In a statement, he said that country’s dignity suffered a setback in the world due to the remarks. “The remarks are against traditions of the apex court. They are against the oath and code of conduct of the honorable judges,” he maintained.

He said that it is sorrowful that the honorable judge had termed the government a mafia and the attorney general its representative.

The spokesman said that the judge had not only leveled the allegations but also ignored the protective measures taken by the government.

“Nehal Hashmi’s statement was reported in the media at 10:50am and the State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb denounced it. The prime minister was busy in the security meeting till 3:30pm and he suspended the membership of Nehal Hashmi when the matter was brought to his notice. The prime minister also issued a show-cause notice to Nehal Hashmi and sought his resignation from the senator-ship. The SC took notice of the matter at 6pm,” he added.
