Govt understands people's woes due to inflation, says PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the government understands the woes of the people due to inflation.

He was presiding over a meeting on the Ehsaas Rashan Programme on Thursday. He said that the government is taking all-possible steps to provide a relief to the common man. "We are extending a subsidy to the deserving people on essential commodities."

The prime minister also directed the authorities concerned to expedite the registration process of 'Karyana stores' to benefit maximum number of poor households under the programme.

During a briefing, the prime minister was apprised that under the programme, a monthly subsidy of Rs1,000 on flour, ghee and pulses will be given to 20 million families that have their monthly income below Rs50,000.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan also presided over a meeting of the PTI Core Committee. He was briefed about the preparations for the local bodies elections.

During a meeting with the Public Accounts Committee members, the prime minister directed to expose the corruption cases of the previous government. He also ordered to expose the corruption committed in the PTI government.

However, the PAC members held the bureaucracy responsible for the matter pertaining to corruption. They were of the view that the bureaucracy was not serious about the matter. "The FIA and the NAB are responsible for taking the corruption cases to its logical end," they added.
