Govt waives charges of all containers stuck at ports

KARACHI (92 News) - The government on Monday announced a big relief for traders, waiving the charges of all containers stuck at ports.

Talking to the media, Federal Minister for Shipping and Maritimes Faisal Sabazwari said that currently hundreds of containers of shipping lines are stuck at ports and their 100 percent charges have been waived off.

"All containers will be shifted to off-doc terminals. The shipping companies have also agreed to a reasonable decrease in the demurrage charges," he added.

He declared that no shipping line is closing its business.
