Govt will not compromise on corruption cases, says President Alvi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – President Dr Arif Alvi has said that the educated people knew that corruption was eroding the country. In 92 News’ Program 92@8 on Wednesday, he said that the Supreme Court and the present government took steps against corruption. “The government will not compromise on the corruption cases.” “Only Allah Almighty dispenses justice. Pitfalls do exist in the justice done by us,” he said. The President said that the civil-military relations are at a good level. “The release of the captured Indian pilot Abhinandan was the joint decision of the civil-military leadership,” he said. He said that the 18th amendment should be improved. “There is no threat to democracy. It has stabilized instead,” he observed. Dr Arif Alvi said that the media has played the best role in the current situation. The President said that women do not get the share from inherited property as per the law of Allah. “I will write a letter to the Islamic Ideology Council in this regard,” he said. He said that the women were not given rights until the 19th century. “It is painful that if it is not done in Pakistan,” the President added. Dr Arif Alvi said that Pakistan had passed through big trials. “Pakistan gave shelter to the Afghan refugees in a better way,” he added. He said that Pakistan had never refused to receive the refugees. The President said that it would have been better if the Punjab MPAs would have not talked about raise in their salaries. “The prime minister is a supporter of increasing the salaries. He expressed disappointment over the increase in salaries under present circumstances,” he maintained.
