Govt withdraws appeal against removal of Shehbaz Sharif's name from blacklist

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The government on Wednesday withdrew the appeal against the removal of Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif's name from the blacklist.

Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif assured the Supreme Court of not pursuing the contempt of court case.

Justice Sajjad Ali Shah remarked that how movement of an accused can be restricted in the criminal cases. "The way Shehbaz Sharif has been given the relief cannot become an example," he observed.

The attorney general told court that no allegation has been levelled against the court.

Justice Ejazul Hassan remarked that the NAB includes 140 witnesses in the reference. "It will be tantamount to affecting the accountability process if the trial is conducted for five years," he observed.
