ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The government has withdrawn some powers of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman as the Law Ministry finalized draft of new National Accountability Bureau (NAB) amendment ordinance. According to the new draft, government has taken back some powers of NAB Chairman including unrestrained powers to issue arrest orders. NAB also cannot declare any place as a sub-jail. NAB’s jurisdiction over matters relating to tax duty has been curtailed and investigations and inquires which are underway will be transferred to concerned institutions. Wife, children, brother and sister will not be included in ‘unnamed category’ and children who are non-filers themselves will only be considered dependent.
