Former rulers did nothing for backward areas, says Punjab CM Usman Buzdar

DERA GHAZI KHAN (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has saide that the government is workin for new districts in the province.

Talking to the media on Wednrsday, he said that the goverenment had decided to divide Lahore. "We will distribute the Sehat Health Card by end of December," he added.

The chief minister said that former rulers had done nothing for backward areas. "I am reviwing the necessities and problems of each district and tehsil," he added.

He said that the government had increased the development budget by 66 percent. "We have turned the wheel of progress towards the backward areas," he added.

The chief minister said that the government was allocating 32 percent quota for Southern Punjab people in the provincial jobs. "The quota will be increased to 35 percent after including Mianwali and Bhakakr," he added.

He said that no one can point finger at transparcy of the budget. "A 122-kilmeter road is being constructed to link Punjab to Balochistan and the project will reduce a distance of 100 kilometres," he added.

Usman Buzdar said that a state-of-the-art school would be established in Fort Munro besides resolving the water issue. He said that work was going on to provide electricity in Koh-e-Suleman and othe areas.
