Govt’s economic policies started showing positive results: Fawad

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhary has said the government's economic policies have started showing positive results.

In a series of tweets on Sunday, the minister said the PML-N and the PPP wreaked havoc with the economy and as a result of which the country was faced with economic hardships.

Expressing satisfaction over the current economic situation, the minister said over four thousand billion rupees have been collected in taxes for the first time in the history of the country.

He said the overseas Pakistanis also contributed in boosting the economy by sending one thousand billion rupees to the country.  

Fawad Chaudhry said there has been a record production of wheat, rice, sugarcane and maize. "Eleven hundred billion rupees went to the agriculture economy which significantly enhanced the purchasing power of the farmers," he added.

He said there has been 64 per cent more sales of tractors whilst the use of fertilizers and pesticides also has witnessed an increase. He further mentioned that the stock market set a new record on the 27th of this month with the trading of shares worth 2.21 billion rupees. "At present Pakistan stock market is the best market in the world," he added.
