Graveyards being visited by large number of people on 9th Muharram

LAHORE (92 News) – On 9th Muharramul Haram, a large number of people are visiting graveyards for offering ‘Fateha’ to the departed souls of their dear ones across the country. It is pertinent to mention here that the Muslims visit the graveyard to remember their dear ones and carries out cleanliness and repaired old graves. Graveyards, across the country, are being witnessed rush of people who continued to visit the graves of dear ones with rose petals, fragrance candles, leaves of date trees, water and pulses. Locally known as Babri, Ocimum, a fragrant plant was in great demand and one could witness number of sellers of it outside graveyards of the city. It is especially used for putting on the graves on 9th and 10th of Muharram. It is a tradition to clean and repair the old graves especially on the occasion of Muharram. But the visitors also feel good when they visit graves of their dear ones and remember them on the occasions especially at Eids and Muharramul Haram.
