RIYADH (92 News) – Saudi Arabia has suspended Umrah for Hajj preparations from Monday night to Zilhajj 13.

The Saudi Arabia authorities said that the groups scheduled between Ziqad 25 and 29 have been allowed to perform Umrah between Ziqad 18 and 24.

On June 12, the Saudi Arabian government had announced the Hajj Policy 2021. According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, only 60,000 pilgrims will be allowed to perform the Hajj this year only from citizens.

“In light of what the whole world is witnessing from the continuing developments of the coronavirus pandemic and the emergence of new mutations, Hajj registration will be limited to residents and citizens from inside the Kingdom only,” the Saudi Hajj ministry announced on Twitter.

It added that only people aged between 18 and 65 who have been vaccinated will be able to take part. "Those wishing to perform Hajj must be free of any chronic diseases."
