ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Federal Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar has asked the Petroleum Dealers Association (PDA) to review the decision to observe the strike.

Talking to the media on Thursday, he said that the government had already sent the summary for an increase in the dealers' margin to the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) and it would be decided in the next meeting. “We are aware of the difficulties of petrol pump owners.”

"The government will fulfill the justified, not undue, demands of the dealers. Under the guise of strike of petrol pumps, some groups want to increase the margin up to Rs 9," he added.

On the other hand, the Petroleum Dealers Association has announced to continue the strike till increasing the commission by six percent.

Meanwhile, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has warned of stern action against the owners closing the pumps.
