Hamza Khan beats French rival to reach World Junior Squash Championship final

MELBOURNE (92 News) - Pakistan's Muhammad Hamza Khan defeated Melvil Scianimanico of France 3-2 in the semi-finals of the WSF World Junior Squash Championship 2023 on Saturday.

Melvil Scianimanico fought back from two games and match ball but Hamza Khan prevailed in the decider. Hamza won the match 11-8, 11-4, 10-12, 9-11 and 13-11.

He is the first Pakistani player to achieve the place since 2008.

Earlier, Hamza Khan defeated Malaysia’s Joachim Chuah 11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 12-10 to book his spot in the semi-final. Hamza reached the quarter-finals after defeating Colombia’s Santamaria 3-2 in a close contest in the pre-quarter-final.
