Hamza Shahbaz’s judicial remand extended for 14-days

LAHORE (29 News) – An accountability court in Lahore extended the judicial remand of Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz for 14-days. Hamza Shahbaz was presented before court today and the court extended his judicial remand of Hamza Shahba in assets beyond known source of income till 31st January 2019. The NAB prosecutor submitted the key progress report regarding the reference in the court. Strict security arrangements made on the occasion to avoid any untoward incident. On the other hand, the court also extended the judicial remand of Yousaf Abbas in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. The medical reports of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has also been submitted in the court. The accountability court extended the judicial remand of Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz till Jan 17 in the Ramazan Sugar Mills case. The court also reserved the verdict on the plea of Shehbaz Sharif seeking exemption from appearance in court. The NAB prosecutor requested the court to dismiss the Shehbaz Sharif’s plea. Earlier on December 23, the LHC had issued notice to the NAB on the bail plea of Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz for January 13. Justice Ali Baqar Najafi questioned Hamza Shehbaz’s lawyers whether they had taken instructions from Hamza Shehbaz who had expressed his no-confidence in the bench. They replied that they had full confidence in the bench.
