LAHORE (92 News) - Hamza Shehbaz Sharif has taken oath as Punjab Chief Minister.

Governor Punjab Baligh-ur-Rehman administered the oath to him at a ceremony at the Governor House in Lahore.

Earlier, Hamza Shehbaz had retained as the chief minister of Punjab after the deputy speaker refused to count the votes of the PML-Q members on the basis of the letter sent to him by PML-Q president Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain.

Announcing the results, Dost Muhammad Mazari had ruled that PML-Q president Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain has ordered all Q League members to vote for Hamza Shehbaz. "I cannot count the votes of the PML-Q on the basis of the letter of Chaudhary Shujaat," he observed.

After the rejection of the PML-Q votes, Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi had gotten 176 votes. As a result, Hamza Shehbaz had retained as the Punjab chief minister.
