Haqqani Network is still a threat to regional security: US

WASHINGTON (92 News) – US State Department Spokesman John Kirby has on Wednesday said that Haqqani Network is still a threat to regional security and the Pentagon is fully aware of this threat. Addressing a news briefing in Washington on Wednesday, he said that the US and India have good relation and the US wants India to keep playing its role in Afghanistan. Kirby said that the Haqqani Network is still a threat to regional security and US is in contact with Pakistan in this regard. The spokesman said that there is no conflict between the Pentagon and John Kerry’s statement regarding Haqqani Network. He further said that he has no information regarding US Secretary of State John Kerry’s contact with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.
