DUBAI (92 News) – Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya had to be stretchered off the field during his team’s game against Pakistan.
The injury, which he sustained whilst bowling in the 18th over of his side’s Asia Cup clash, led to him clutching his back during his follow-through. He then lay motionless, leading to a suspicion that he was suffering from cramp due to dehydration. He was subsequently taken off the field under the advice of physio Patrick Farhart. BCCI later confirmed the state of the injury: "Hardik Pandya has an acute lower back injury. He is able to stand at the moment and the medical team is assessing him now." Only Rohit Sharma, with 46 games, has played more for India over the past 12 months than Pandya’s 44 appearances. Pandya has played a lot of cricket recently, featuring in a full IPL season for Mumbai Indians before missing only one game during his national side’s recent tour of England.
