Head of Mission survives attack on Pakistan Embassy in Kabul, guard injured
KABUL (92 News) - A guard was injured in an attack on the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul on Friday.
In a statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that the compound of the Embassy of Pakistan in Kabul came under attack targeting Head of Mission Ubaidur Rehman Nizamani.
"By the grace of Allah Almighty, the Head of Mission is safe. However, a Pakistani security guard Sepoy Israr Mohammad has been critically injured in the attack while protecting the Head of Mission," she said.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the assassination attempt on Pakistan’s Head of Mission in Kabul and called for an immediate inquiry into the incident.
In a tweet, he said: “I strongly condemn dastardly assassination attempt on Head of Mission, Kabul. I demand immediate investigation and action against perpetrators of this heinous act.”

The prime minister lauded the bravery of the security guard, who received bullet wounds while saving the life of the envoy. “Salute to brave security guard, who took bullet to save his [Head of Mission] life,” he said and prayed for his swift recovery.
