ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The head of Taliban political office in Qatar, Syed Tayyeb Agha, resigned on Tuesday apparently over differences with the new Taliban supremo. According to Afghan and American media reports, Tayyeb Agha said that he decided to step down as head of the political office of the Taliban, because his political role has come to an end, adding that he will not be part of any decision and statements of the Taliban. Sources said that Taliban’s Central Council demanded resignation of Tayyeb Agha but the reasons were not cleared why they demanded resignation. The resignation comes at a time when splits among the Taliban are apparent over the election of Mullah Akhtar Mansoor as Mullah Omar’s successor.
